Fifteen dead, nine injured and scores unaccounted for in electricity theft-related incidents

Mbombela, Mpumalanga, 10 November 2016 – Fifteen people have died while nine sustained serious injuries in electricity theft-related incidents in Mpumalanga’s Ehlanzeni District Municipality between 2013 and 2016. This is according to Eskom’s latest public safety report for its Mpumalanga Operating Unit shown at a media briefing hosted by Operation Khanyisa, the power utility’s national campaign aimed at fighting electricity theft, on Thursday, 10 November 2016.
